Online help that works.

All our therapy programmes are effective treatments for depression and anxiety.

We know that therapy works - in general. But we don't know what type of therapy works best for a specific person. To help us understand this, after you do a study questionnaire, you will be offered one of four therapy programmes:

Online Modules

Choose from a range of self-guided modules that target common student challenges such as low mood, stress, procrastination, and sleep. Work through the modules at your own pace where and when it suits you.

All of the modules are based on Cognitive-Behavioural-Therapy (CBT).

Modules + Coach

The same online modules but with a coach to cheer you on.

Our coaches have great training in the things you're learning. They'll give you encouragement and feedback as you make your way through the interactive tasks in the modules.

Skills Seminars

Take part in confidential online seminars at a time that suits you.

We cover five topics that will help you learn strategies to improve your mood and to worry less. One topic involves an hour a week for two weeks. The seminars take place over Zoom and are offered on several different times and days. A new topic is covered every two weeks. You can skip a week or two when study gets busy.

Even if you're not sure if seminars are for you, give it a go! You can join without your camera on and just your first name for extra privacy.

Treatment as Usual

To help us understand if online or kanohi ki te kanohi is better for some students than others, some students will be asked to use their usual mental health service instead of an online option. Even though you aren't taking part in a new therapy option, you are helping with important research - thank you.
